AND THE 2019 CHAMPION IS...
After just their second year of competing, San Jose's own GRIND MODE ELITE has found it's way to the top of the hill by
capturing the 2019 QUICK 6 "GOLDEN GREAT 7-ON-7 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP". Coach Brandon Younger's team came into the 2019 season ranked 9th as the best team in the state, according to QUICK 6 FOOTBALL
rankings over the previous two years.
The team's chemistry was obvious from the outset as they went undefeated in pool play against a very competive field of
teams, which included at least four other QUICK 6 top ranked squads. It was no easy feat, however, as GRIND MODE had to "grind" it out
through bracket play before facing a familiar foe in ELITE EXPRESS out of E. Palo Alto, CA for the championship. The final game featured a back and forth lead change that ended with a well excuted
drive by GRIND MODE ELITE in the final 90 seconds to capture their first QUICK 6 title.
Wide Receiver Izaiah Nakanishi (Oak Grove High
School / Class of 2020) and Free Safety Jonaven Kuhn (Carlmont High school / Class of 2020) received top honors as
Offensive and Defensive MVPs, respectively.

From Sunday, March 3, 2019: GAME-FIT JR. / FUTURE NOW#2 CHAMPIONS!
-------------------------------------------------------------
Grand Terrace High School - Riverside, CA. - Sunday, February 24, 2019:
QUICK 6 FOOTBALL exploded onto the Southern California scene this past Sunday with our inagural "AIR CONNECTION 7on7" tournament event. 20 teams from
San Diego to Fresno came out to battle for the 4' trophy as well as medals, QUICK 6 Dri-fits shirts and mouthguards provided by New Legends Gear.
After three tough pool play rounds and an intense single elimination bracket play, the Proway 805 Young Guns outlasted the Proway Platinum Boys to
become the first "AIR CONNECTION" 7on7 champion.
The "AIR CONNECTION" was the second qualifier for the QUICK 6 "GOLDEN GREAT 7on7 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP" which will be held at the City College of San
Francisco on Sunday, April 7, 2019. The top four teams from this event who received the automatic bid to the "big dance" was the Proway 805 YOUNG GUNS, the Proway PLATINUM BOYS, Team SIZZLE
and GAMETIME.
"AIR CONNECTION" MVPs:
Andrew Tilley - Defense
RJ Aranda - Offense

Sacramento, Ca. - TEAM ELEVATE JR. of Stockton, CA took home the trophy at the QUICK 6 "FUTURE NOW #1" MIDDLE SCHOOL 7-ON-7 TOURNAMENT in Sacramento, CA. They defeated GAME-FIT of Sacramento 17-14 in a battle of true champions. Joseph
Robinson Jr. and Jordan Nelson (seen below) were the Defensive and Offensive MVPs of the tournament.

SUNDAY - FEB. 18, 2018
This is the kick-off event that will set the tone for the 2018 7-on-7 season. Last year we had over 20 teams take the field with VALLEY GOT
TALENT defeating a tough TGS WARRIORS squad to take the opening crown.
SUNDAY - MARCH 11, 2018
The ORIGINAL 7-on-7 Night Game. Don't be fooled by the imitators... QUICK 6 FOOTBALL's "UNDER-THE-LIGHTS" showcases the best teams under the stars! Last year's winner was VALLEY GOT TALENT winning
a close one over Team GOOD GAME during a televised event (CLICK
HERE TO VIEW THE PROGRAM).
SUNDAY - MARCH 25, 2018
This event features a faster 3.5 second QB-tee timer putting more pressure on then offense to shorten routes and get rid of the ball before getting sacked. It's a DB's dream! Last year's winner
was EPIC 7 VOLT who went undefeated all day in Santa Rosa, CA.
SUNDAY - APRIL 22, 2018
The Grand Finale of the QUICK 6 FOOTBALL season ends in the city of San Francisco.
The "GOLDEN GREAT 7on7 CHAMPIONSHIP" features the top qualifiers from Nor-Cal, So-Cal, Central Valley & Nevada!
19 teams entered and only one was triumphant. That team was EPIC 7 VOLT from San Jose. Even though the rain came ouring down during the chamionship game,
it was a great day of 7on7 football at Santa Rosa High School in Santa Rosa, CA. EPIC 7, led by tournament Defensive MVP Dvon Lang (@Dvon_lang3) and Offensive MVP Roman Sahagun
(@Roman_sahagun), did not taste defeat from pool play until hoisting the trophy.
This is the second QUICK 6 FOOTBALL championship in as many years for EPIC 7. They won last's year's AIR-TO-THE-THRONE on their home field at Valley Christian
High School in San Jose. Ironcially, they defeated the BAY AREA HIGH OCTANE TITANS, the same team they faced in last year's aforementioned championship
game. The Titans are former champions who captured the 2015 AIR-TO-THE-THRONE. The Titans have nothing to be sad about as they defeated VALLEY GOT TALENT (white) to get to the championship game. VALLEY GOT TALENT was the champion of the last three QUICK 6 FOOTBALL tournaments.
The next QUICK 6 FOOTBALL event is "THE PREMIER 7-ON-7 PASSING CHALLENGE" on Sunday, April 23rd at JOHN F. KENNEDY HIGH
SCHOOL in Sacramento, CA. For more info, visit our events page or registration page.
Event took place March 26, 2017 at Santa Rosa High School - Santa
Rosa, CA
Event took place March 18, 2017 at Elk Grove High School - Elk Grove, CA
The day was perfect at John F. Kennedy on April 23rd, 2017. It was sunny with a temperature of 72 degrees for most of the day and TMP ELITE D1 never visted the "L"
column all day as they took home the 4' trophy for the 6th Annual "PREMIER 7on7 PASSING CHALLENGE". This was the final QUICK 6 FOOTBALL event for the high school circuit for 2017 and it did not
disappoint as 19 teams did battle all day. TMP coasted through pool play, but was met with resistance in bracket play from teams like Young Guns from Lodi and their Sacramento rivals TGS
Warriors.
TMP was led on defense by Mason Herst and on offensive
by Aiden Willard. Both players took home the tournament M.V.Ps for defense and offense,
respectively.
Event took place March 26, 2017 at John F. Kennedy High School - Sacramento, CA
Continuing their winning ways, Valley Got Talent (white) captured the 2017 QUICK 6 "AIR-TO-THE-THRONE" 7-ON-7 CHAMPIONSHIP. VGT started as a 14-seed and battled through the 20 team tournament
finally defeating the top-seed BAY AREA TITANS in the championship match. It's ironic that VGT won the first QUICK 6 tournament of the year because they closed out last year as the QUICK 6 "Golden
State 7-on-7" Champions!
Avina, Rodgers lead Valley’s Got Talent to
"THE QUICK 6" 2016 Golden State 7-ON-7 Championship
A collection of the Stanislaus District’s top high school football players
captured the Quick 6 Golden State 7-on-7 Championship at Valley Christian High in San Jose.
Valley’s Got Talent (VGT) defeated Epic 7 of San Jose with a defensive stand in
the final minute to complete a come-from-behind victory at the invitation-only event Saturday, May 7, 2016.
Sonora High’s Kane Rodgers, an All-District and MaxPreps’ Sophomore of the Year
for the Sac-Joaquin Section, intercepted a pass to seal the 17-16 win.
Epic 7, sponsored by former NFL quarterback Trent Dilfer, was the No. 1 overall
seed.
Rodgers “made a great read,” said VGT coach Les Bonsu, also the owner of Bonsu
Elite Athletics in Ceres. “He said he saw the play numerous times at safety. When we moved him up to corner, he saw it again, sat in the hole and picked it.”
VGT was seeded third and defeated Bay Area-based teams About that Action, Kenion
(twice) and 510 Fitness (twice) en route to the final. The tournament title was the first of the spring season for a team that began to take shape with tryouts in January.
In addition to Rodgers, the roster for the Quick 6 Golden State 7-on-7
Championship included sophomore Bobby Avina of Gregori, junior Chris Lubinsky of Ceres, junior Marcellus Boykins of Ceres, senior Daniel Giannosa of Big Valley Christian, sophomore Marcus Aponte of
St. Mary’s, senior Osai Brown of McNair, senior Darius Livingston of Bear Creek, junior Tre Wortham of Bear Creek and senior Brandon Sanders of St. Mary’s.
“It’s been a long season, but this is definitely a great way to end the season …
if that’s our last game,” said Bonsu, who may enter VGT in a showcase at Cal on June 4.
“We only had two kids back from last year. Everyone was new, but the kids
definitely deserved this.”
Avina and Rodgers were named the tournament’s offensive and defensive MVPs,
respectively.
Bonsu believes Avina, a sophomore quarterback, has a chance to be special at
Gregori, where coach Jason McCoy will need to replace two-year starter Cam Calton (2,341 career passing yards, 19 touchdowns).
“I think that kid is going to have a tremendous season. He’s gotten so much
better,” Bonsu said. “If he doesn’t play as well as he did, we don’t have a chance over the weekend.”
